Position Description:
Working closely with the Director of Investments FP&A, this position will assist in the continued design and implementation of business information requirements to the Investment Management team, Financial Reporting team, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team, Business Units CFO and Controllers and enable a more consistent approach to the analysis and reporting of net investment income. This position will also work closely with internal and external portfolio managers to support credit quality analyses.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the ongoing development of processes that will improve group level reporting for internal and external stakeholders (ex. Board of Directors, Business Partners, and Clients.)

Provide the analysis needed for customized benchmark solutions and forecasting of investment income characteristics and returns to the Investment Front office.

Maintain investment income analysis through the use of the following systems: Bloomberg, Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, Web Intelligence and several other investment accounting administrative systems required to fulfill the duties of the job.

Manage and collect investment impairment analysis of bonds, structured assets, equities and private investments under IFRS and NAIC bases

Support the Director in the development of executive communications and presentations as required.

Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for external business partners. (15% of the time)

Handle other performance and investment reporting projects as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
5+ years financial analysis experience

Fixed Income Investments analysis strongly preferred

BA in Accounting/Finance

Some experience with fixed income/equity credit quality preferred

Strong Excel experience required

Skills and Knowledge:
Strong ability to form and develop relationships with a wide variety of functional roles and organizational levels.

Effective communications skills oriented to driving change - not just providing informational updates.

Ability to package information to clear decision points.

Comfort in handling multiple project priorities with challenging deadlines.

Very strong analysis skills to process voluminous data and establish the key business implications.

Ability to deal with ambiguity.

Excellent planning and forecasting skills through spreadsheet modeling.

Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and build strong collaborative working relationships.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensuring timely delivery to senior management.

Excellent information presentation skills, through verbal and written communication.
