In this role, the Product Line Controller will prepare and analyze financial plans and projections for the Microprocessor Products Division, which will include monthly revenue, cogs and expense forecast updates, ROI analysis, and other ad hoc analysis.
The Controller will also provide finance support to the VP Corporate Sales and VP Corporate Counsel.
As a key business partner, the Product Line Controller will work closely with key stakeholders in the business unit and functional groups to gain a thorough understanding of drivers and assumptions that drive the business. This insight will be necessary to compile and analyze financial results, and provide information, insight and recommendations to make sound business decisions.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, job duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Analysis and problem resolution according the business needs. Provide financial advice and perspective to Product Line staff, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers.Process owner in the annual budget process by preparing the detailed capital and annual operating plans and supporting analyses Participate in special projects and other duties as required Conduct monthly or more frequent forecast cycle for all divisional costs and revenue, and costs for assigned corporate departments Devise annual three year strategic plan for product line and departments including financial projections. Analyze product and other proposals (return on investment analysis), competitive analysis, and other financial metrics. Conduct revenue and margin analysis, including ASP erosion, special pricing and various variance analysis. Support Sales organization in compiling and analyzing Corporate revenue information including trend, customer, competitor and pricing analysis Identify business model trends for product line, effect of business outcomes (design wins / losses contract losses) on forecast projections and results, and identify alternative actions to address new business issues. Provide supplementary analysis and explanation of actual revenues and costs to aid relevant managers in determining future cost trends. Manage Corporate Legal and Corporate Sales expense budgets
The successful candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, plus a professional accounting designation or MBA 5-10 years of experience in a Financial Analyst or Controller role is required The candidate should have a combination of Microsoft Excel skills at the expert level Experience with Hyperion Planning User level experience with large organization enterprise systems, such as PeopleSoft or SAP, is desirable. A variety of analysis tools and research methods are required to be successful in this position. Semiconductor industry experience is useful for the identification of standard metrics and key business trends. Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are a must, as this person will be dealing at the executive level with various departments. Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are also required.
To achieve success in this position, this individual should be familiar with accounting rules and requirements (especially US GAAP), analysis of accounting results / financial statements, a variety of analysis techniques and Internal Control, traditional budgeting, and forecasting of financial information. Considerable problem solving and analysis skills are essential, especially the ability to perform unstructured analysis and to detect and investigate problems or issues. The ability to illustrate business proposals, problems, and issues in terms of the financial and accounting impact to PMC is required. Other essential skills include effective presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. High ethical standards are a must.
