A Financial Coordinator - Federal Grants Programs - Grant-Funded (GF) is responsible for Housing Services Section financial activities including accounting, budget preparation, auditing, fiscal record management and recording, and supervision of clerical staff. Responsibilities include: performing budget coordination, preparation, and administrative work; communicating, training, and assisting staff with accounting procedures; reviewing and verifying data and forms for accuracy; creating and managing comprehensive databases and spreadsheets to provide Division reports; creating special reports for Division personnel; analyzing and monitoring expenditures; researching problems and communicating with the Financial Services Department; and reconciling revenues. Duties also include: adhering to Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and rules while generating, processing, and preparing payments and checks for Section 8 landlords and participants; coordinating the check run process by preparing and compiling check run documentation/data and providing fund transfer information to the Accounting Section as well as reconciliation reports; assisting in the preparation of year-end HUD statements, yearly budgets, 1099 data and submitting documentation through the Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) as required by HUD; submitting quarterly lease and expense information to HUD through REAC. Additional duties include: supervising staff responsible for performing accounting and purchasing functions, as well as staff responsible for performing receptionist/front office duties; creating and updating Division policies and procedures relating to accounting and purchasing practices; developing financial controls for systems and processes; providing development training and education to staff; and monitoring employee performance. Supervision may be exercised over a staff of clerical employees. A Financial Coordinator - Federal Grants Programs - (GF) is expected to use considerable initiative, independent judgment and leadership when performing budget, accounting, financial and supervising duties. This class is FLSA exempt-administrative.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum Qualification(s) Required. Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public or Business Administration or a related field. Considerable (3 - 5 years) professional-level experience in budget preparation, finance, accounting, or a closely related field. At least one year supervisory experience. Experience utilizing computerized or personal computer (PC) based financial systems.
Preferred/Desirable Qualification(s). Experience with HUD or other federal grant programs is highly desirable.
