Workweek: PT, 20 hrs/wk
Provides necessary assistance to patients in need of financial counseling. Collects co-pays and ensures reimbursement for private pay balances. Acts as liaison between hospital and collection attorneys for accurate bad debt placement. Provides required referral information required to establish possible Medicaid eligibility. Associate may be required to work at multiple facilities.
Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 3 years
Experience Desired: AAS in accounting/business field desired. Requires knowledge of third party payors, Federal Poverty Guidelines and computers.
Skill Desired: Requires good customer service/telephone skills; knowledge of basic accounting principles; and accurate calculator use. Must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational and mathematical skills. Confidentiality is a must.
