The salary range for this position is $45,991 - $75,884 annually plus excellent benefits. The schedule/range for this position is 81-03. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) is currently recruiting for a Financial Program Supervisor. This position is located in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Business Services and is responsible for the professional accounting activities for the Business Services, Research Division, and the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station (WAES) units.

T he Business Service and Research Division units are responsible for monitoring and advising on financial transactions including administering extramural support from a wide range of sponsors. In addition, the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station administers the award and management of federal formula grants in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UW Madison. In its capacity as the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station, CALS has sole financial responsibility for USDA Formula grants which includes over 200 research projects with annual expenditures over $6,500,000.

Job Duties:

The Financial Program Supervisor will be responsible for oversight of the Accountant positions that coordinate and approve financial transactions on behalf of CALS and establish required administrative and accounting controls for CALS programs. This position also provides faculty and staff support for a variety of critical administrative functions with the University of Wisconsin Madison and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The work requires a significant degree of interaction with research staff, faculty, administrators, and students, and the ability to independently carry out assigned responsibilities. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, including appropriate control systems, and on-going audit processes; Skill and ability to use MS Excel, MS Word, and Brio-Query tools; Skill and ability to analyze data and reports; Advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills, procedures, and techniques, including ability to effectively train, lead, and administer others; Advanced problem solving skills; Effective oral and written communication skills. Attributes must include being highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities (multi-task), ability to mentally catalog and retain vast amounts of information, ability to think critically/reason logically.
