As a Senior Accountant with Gordon Food Service you will develop, interpret and implement complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control. You will support U.S. and Canadian financial statement reporting and projects requiring financial expertise.

Among many responsibilities, this position is involved in the following activities on a regular basis:

Interprets and applies corporate financial policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

Manages the budget process, including training, system preparation, template preparation and financial statements.

Completes monthly division and consolidated financial statements with related charts and graphs.

Maintains finance contact relationships with Canadian and Strategic Alliance entities to facilitate consolidated financial statement reporting.

Researches and prepares GAAP financial statements with footnotes.

Prepares and organizes data for audit.

Analyzes financial and non-financial information to identify trends or concerns, providing information to leadership to improve present and future financial performance.

Preparation of studies, reports and analysis in areas such as non-operating activity, budgets, forecasts, financial plans and statistical reports.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Senior Leadership.

Key qualifications and requirements for this position include:

Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field

CPA or CMA preferred

5-10 years public accounting in a Regional or Big 4 Firm preferred

5-10 years combination of public accounting and corporate public company experience preferred
