Under close supervision of the Section Chief of the Child Support Customer Response Section (CRS), this position performs entry level work including the entering of routine financial data into the Kids Information Data System (KIDS) and Excel spread sheets. This position will also assist Bureau of Child Support (BCS) staff with the approval of routine Child Support adjustments related to the receipt and disbursement of court-ordered support obligations using KIDS. This position assists CRS staff in monitoring KIDS participant accounts. This position will perform financial functions by applying pre-existing financial procedures and regulations related to KIDS processing. This position will assist CRS staff with reviewing KIDS financial processing as part of the CRS KIDS Policy help staff (KIDPOL) process. This position will work with CRS staff in understanding KIDS processes and assist CRS staff in preparing responses to Child Support Agency (CSA) requests. This position will also assist CRS staff as they explain child support distribution requirements, disbursement methods and other financial matters related to KIDS. This position will assist CRS and Fiscal staff in the oversight of debit card issuances, loads and customer service issues.

Due to the nature of this position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Children and Families to conduct a criminal and caregiver background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charge or any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to learn and apply modern accounting theory and practices, especially governmental accounting. General knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Experience in interpreting computer generated reports and extract information necessary to reconcile with other records. Beginning knowledge of financial rules and regulations, payment distribution patterns and specialized programs. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Considerable knowledge of personal computer use and familiarity with common word processing, Windows-based software, and Internet applications. Experience in the creation and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets; basic knowledge of other Microsoft Office Suite programs to support related activities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, county staff, and the public.
Starting pay will be $13.968 per hour. This position is in pay range 02-10. A six-month probationary period will be required.
