Position Summary:
Instruct FPT curriculum courses, according to RCCC instructional requirements. Teaching focus to be directed to instructing courses in the following areas:
- Fire Protection Technology AAS (A55240)
- Fire Protection Technology Diploma (D55240FO)
- Fire Officer Academy (A55240FA)
- Human Relations in Fire and Government Service Certificate (C55240A)
- Firefighter Health and Wellness Certificate (C55240B)
- Fire Service Supervision and Human Resource Certificate (C55240C)
- Fire Service Leadership and Management Certificate (C55240D)

Staff Required Education/Experience:
Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills:
- AAS degree in fire science or fire protection technology.
- Fire Instructor I and II Certification.
- Firefighter I and II Certification.
- Emergency Medical Technology Certification (does not have to be current).

Desired Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor Degree in fire department administration or management or a discipline related to a fire service focus area
- Master’s degree related to public administration, leadership, organization development, fire safety engineering, or fire protection engineering.
- Completion or willingness to complete the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.
- The successful candidate will have had recent experience in the fire service rank of captain or above.
- Completion or willingness to complete the Fire Officer I, II and III certifications.
- Candidates with certifications in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT-B) or Certified Emergency Paramedic (CEP) will receive additional consideration.
- Candidates with emergency management experience, course work and or related certifications will receive additional consideration.

- Teaching experience.
- Online and face-to-face course development
- Experience in organizational leadership positions.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful candidate will possess the SKA’s to work with students possessing a long continuum of fire service knowledge and experience; from the novice to the advanced level. This faculty member will be charged with teaching and developing courses involving upper management subjects in the RCCC Fire Officer’s Academy degree path and working with a student population that includes current and future fire officers and administrators. Additionally, this faculty member will instruct in the basic introductory fire technology courses.

- Work scheduled according to the RCCC Academic Calendar.
- Nine (9) month position.
- Day and Evening Classes
