Must be at least 21 years of age
High School Diploma or GED required
3–5 years fleet mechanical experience required
Must provide own tools and roll away tool box
Good planning and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Familiarity with B.I.T. inspections required
R12 and 134a certification, International DT electronic engine certification, and ASE certification preferred
Must be able to work flexible hours and available for emergency weekend work and after hour service calls
Valid California Class A Commercial Driver's license and DOT Medical card required.
Heavy-duty air brake certification reuired. Heavy-duty Diesel Engine(Cummins/Cat) and Forklift experience preferred.
Preventative maintenance and emergency repairs of 200 vehicles, including gas and diesel engines,
tractor/trailer combinations for over-the-road and local delivery, full - size cargo vans, mini-vans, and automobiles, and Waymatics
Repair and maintenance of air conditioning and trailer refrigeration units, power train, electrical systems, brake systems and lift gate hydraulics
Performs scheduled repair and maintenance on approximately 180 vehicles, including repair and replacement of parts, preventative maintenance, and maintenance of air conditioning and trailer refrigeration units, electrical systems, brake systems and lift gate hydraulics
Performs “on demand” maintenance (unscheduled repairs) to employees driving company vehicles
Performs tasks to ensure fleet garage is clean and safe
Early diagnosis to prevent road calls and to maximize life of vehicle
Knowledge of auto/truck parts and their costs to ensure competitive prices from vendors
Fleet shop cleanliness, organization, and safe in compliance with A-B standards
Repetitive lifting, bending, pulling and pushing
Work with minimal supervision and have a positive, can-do attitude
