One of the finest year-round mountain resorts in North America, Northstar California is host to a base area village featuring unique shops and restaurants, a conference center, 9,000 square foot outdoor skating rink, on-site lodging, special events and more! A winter sport enthusiast's paradise, Northstar offers 97 ski trails spread across 3,170 acres, award-winning terrain parks and snow sports including alpine and Telemark skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tubing. Summer activities include mountain biking, golfing, scenic lift rides for sightseeing and hiking, and fly-fishing!

The Food and Beverage Cashier will accurately tender food & beverage purchases at a cash register, provide proper change, and maintain a balanced drawer. This position will either be located at the Summit Deck and Grille or the Lodge at Big Springs.

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Display accurate cash handling skills, perform daily sales and close procedures while following company and departmental policies and procedures.

Greet and assist guests as they approach the register.

Ring in proper payment with each transaction.

Assure payment is made for every item.

Keep bills, coins, receipts, and coupons neat and orderly.

Keep track of all voids, refunds, and over-rings.

Maintain orderly operations and ensure enough cash is in drawer for making change at all times.

Maintain the cleanliness of immediate work station/area.

Stock fruit bins, cookie & candy baskets, and chip stands.

Help with closing procedures.

Maintain a friendly, team spirit with a focus on guest service.

Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.

Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.

18 years of age or older.

High School Diploma or GED.

Must have California Food Handlers Certification within 2 weeks of hire date.

Ability to transport to and from work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.

Flexible working hours.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to maintain composure under pressure/high volume.

Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:
Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Previous experience working in a guest service position.
