Performs entry-level food service tasks. Works in assigned dining room area under the general supervision of the area leader. Shares the responsibility with other food service employees for preparing and serving food and cleaning equipment and the work area. Prepares reports relative to the position. Must understand the duties, location of work (on TSH campus) and shift pattern are subject to change as determined by the administration to meet the needs of the hospital. Employee actively participates and/or serves in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.

Essential Job Functions:
Must be able to read and write effectively and handle basic arithmetic computations.
Must have knowledge of food preparation.
Must have knowledge of portion control.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Must have ability to read and understand written material. Must have ability to follow verbal instructions.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

Initial Selection Criteria:
Work experience and/or registered in a senior high school or college.

Terrell State Hospital is located approximately 30 miles east of Dallas. Terrell State Hospital is a smoke-free facility.
