Working Title : Food Service Worker Lead- Float Schedule

Job Summary/Essential Functions :

Eastern Washington University is seeking a team-oriented individual for Food Service Worker Lead- Float Schedule. This is 10-month per year cyclic position with a strong possibility of picking up shifts during cyclic time off. This position leads and participates in the preparation of food at EWU Dining Services. This position also leads and participates in the maintenance of a clean, safe, and sanitary workplace.

On top of salary, the University offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. In addition, EWU offers generous vacation and sick leave accruals, 10 paid holidays per year and fringe benefits, such as tuition waiver for employees, discounted EWU event and sports tickets and free transportation through STA buses.

Conditions of Employment :

This position requires a valid food handler's permit and a driver's license. This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends

The successful candidate must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

This position, during the couse of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university fund or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check. This is a agency shop position.

Minimum Qualifications :

Food Handler's Permit

AND

One year of experience in high volume or institutional food preparation and serving.

AND

Specific Position Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Excellent customer service skills

Valid Driver's License

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications : Associates Degree or Certificate in Culinary Arts
