Two technicians are needed to sample vegetation for the Range and Training Land Assessment (RTLA) component of the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program on Fort Drum in New York.
This is a temporary position, not to exceed two months which will begin 1 May 2013 to 30 June 2013.
Start and end dates are flexible to accommodate student obligations. Successful applicants will work 40 hours per week, typically 7:00a to 5:30p Tuesday through Friday.
A minimum of one year of course work in botany or a related field is required.
Pursuing a BS/BA degree in botany, biology, ecology, natural sciences, or a related field is desired.
Candidates with coursework and/or experience in plant taxonomy and identification, natural resource sampling and monitoring techniques are preferred.
Applicants should be in good physical condition, willing to work long hours outdoors in all types of weather conditions and terrain, and able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
A valid driver’s license is required.
