A strategic, motivated, forward-thinking and creative professional responsible for the Foundation’s fundraising activities and development programs in support of the College. Has the ability to advance the College’s interests by interacting with other entities and individuals to encourage and facilitate interest in and support of the College’s vision, mission and goals. Develops, plans, leads and directs a comprehensive program to secure individual gifts, major gifts, scholarship endowments, scholarships, fellowships, and planned giving. Directs strategy formulation for fundraising that results in the College and Foundation being positioned to secure progressively higher levels of philanthropic resources for college strategic priorities. Directs the Foundation through capital and endowment campaigns in addition to building a more broad-based and robust comprehensive fundraising program including annual fund, family campaign support and planned giving. Reports to the Chief Officer of Governance and College Foundation as a member of the President’s office and promotes a collaborative team environment with well-developed interpersonal skills that aligns with the organizational culture and structure of the College. Performs all duties and functions of a non-profit 501© (3) organization operation manager.
Staff Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field, and four (4) years of experience in the development area; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills:
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFE) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Credentials
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of fund-raising fundamentals and practices, particularly in higher education. Knowledge of funding resources and non-profit financial record-keeping and reporting. Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering presentations and stewardship reports and excellent interpersonal and community relations skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community. Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing and directing multiple programs, campaigns and events. Ability to compile, analyze and prepare information for reports. Ability to research information and knowledge of basic accounting and fiscal management principles. Ability to engage in fiscally safe financial practices on behalf of the Foundation to ensure that it operates within its budgetary guidelines.
