The incumbent of this position will assist personnel in the processing of requests received under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) or Privacy Act (PA), along with requests for investigative files received from other Federal agencies or law enforcement entities.

Relevant experience (see Qualifications below)
Log and review Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Amendment requests for completeness, and request additional information when requests are not complete.
Acknowledge in writing all perfected Amendment requests received in the FOI/PA office within prescribed time frames.
Conduct searches of the FIS system of records to identify all responsive documents, and obtain all investigative files on subjects of requests, including any FOI/PA file from previous requests processed.
Process requests for copies of SF forms and any type of application form (ie: OF-306) from subjects; including the release of these forms to the subject in accordance with Privacy Act regulations.
Process requests for statuses of investigations in accordance with the Privacy Act.
For the GS-7: You must have at least one full year of progressively responsible experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal or private sector related to:
Reviewing documents involving Federal personnel background investigations or Privacy Act/Freedom of Information Act & Amendment requests
Generating spreadsheets for tracking data, preparation of reports, and/or drafting routine correspondence
Providing customer service to external customers, as well as individuals within the organization
Managing a high volume of work to meet workload priorities and deadlines
Education can not be used to qualify at the GS-7 level.
