Who are we? We are Architect: A London-born digital agency that’s a part of the global communications giant, The Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG). We’re based in the heart of San Francisco and work with a breadth of clients including Cisco, Nintendo, UC Berkeley and Unilever. To find out more about us, please visit http://wearearchitect.com/

Who are we looking for? Architect are looking for a front-end web developer to craft beautiful user experiences for our clients, as a master of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We’d love you to be the kind of person that thinks through what they’re writing so that it’s testable, easy to read and built to last. You will have the painstaking attention to detail required to craft a design in code, plus the empathy with audiences needed to make user interfaces that just work. Typically you will work with project managers, designers and other developers on multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be as excited by our day-to-day web, mobile and social media builds as you are by our high-profile, boundary-smashing software projects. In short, we’re looking for someone who isn’t deterred by a wealth of different challenges; who recognises the enormous potential of this role and is excited by the opportunity to get in early with one of the industry’s rising stars.

Must haves…
  • Degree or equivalent in computer science (or a related field) is preferred
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a web-based development environment
  • Be able to write well-structured HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as AngularJS, Backbone.js or Ember.js
  • Experience of working with version control systems (Subversion, Mercurial, Git)
  • Also, some experience working at a digital agency is preferred, or explain in your cover letter how you can transfer what you’ve done before into an agency environment
