Position : Full-time Therapist

Status : At-will Staff Position

reports to: Executive Director

Primary

Function : Provides direct mental health services to child and adult clients assigned through the Counseling Program's general intake process. Provides evidence based grief and trauma groups within the District of Columbia school setting.

Responsibilities :
·
Understands and upholds the Center's philosophy and mission and abides by the Personnel Handbook and Clinical Manual guidelines
·Works a minimum of 40 hours per week and sees clients as scheduled by the Intake Coordinator; maintains a full caseload to the degree possible
·Experience in working with diverse populations
·Provides short and long-term counseling services to individuals, families and/or groups at one of the two Wendt Center offices
·Provides brief crisis counseling services
·Completes a clinical assessment, including diagnosis, within a week of a client's initial session
·Greets clients, collects fees and issues receipts when receptionist is not available
·Maintains current clinical case records and provides reports as needed
·Maintains therapy rooms and materials to professional standards
·Contacts collateralprofessionals and others in the community regarding cases when appropriate
·Meets with the site's Clinical Coordinator regarding caseload and clinical and administrative concerns
·Maintains updatedcurrent client schedule in Office Hours
·Uses email to remain informed of Wendt Center business
·Provides caseload information to Intake Coordinator and Accounting Assistant for statistical purposes
·Completes on-line insurance panel credentialing process
·Provides information for program and grant development as needed
This position involves working 3 evenings a week and/or Saturdays.
Qualifications :
·
Graduate level degree in mental health
·Licensed to practice in the District of Columbia – LICSW STRONGLY PREFERRED
·
Proven Professional background working in grief/trauma/crisis
·At least four years of experience providing individual/family therapy
·Experience providing group therapy
·Spanish speaking desirable
·Excellent verbal and writing skills; well organized
·The ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with a broad range of people
