As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. You get to work closely with and learn from the brightest minds to ensure proper system design. Your role ensures highest quality implementations from design through quality insurance to production. You anticipate hardware and software design needs to take pre-emptive action. Our IT professionals support multiple team members and other project leads in day-to-day activities related to project work.
This position will mainly be responsible for helping to implement a 3rd party Document Management package within Home Depot.
Using the Document Management software solution, individual will be responsible for: helping to configure screen layouts, business rules, data model changes, workflows, web services, and form templates '- in order to automate the creation of high volume communications delivered across multiple channels (eg, XML messaging, Print, Email, SMS, Html, etc). Individual will also help with Administrative duties for the Document Management software/servers as needed.
Participate in a broad range of activities including: research, analysis, design, estimating, configuration/development, testing, support, etc.
Contribute to discovery meetings with Business Analysts (BA's) and other representatives in order to identify/document functional requirements.
Work with matrix teams to define, test, and deploy solutions.

Gather detail requirements from business users for approved projects and small enhancements to existing projects using detailed analysis techniques.

Perform design and development for approved projects and small enhancements to existing projects.

Perform program configuration/modification and set-up activities using specific HD process techniques.

Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with the Business Client. Provide System Requirement Documents (SRD) and Systems External Specifications (SES) documents to the UAT and System test groups, to assist with testing scenarios.

Typically reports to Manager, Information Technologies

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.


Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

US Citizen, Green Card
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or 4 years of relevant work experience
Experience with Thunderhead Customer Communications Document Software (Admin, Business Studio, etc), or other DOCCM (Document Output for Customer Communication Management) software would be a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of Java, web services and related technologies
Experience with the following a plus: XML, Java, JavaScript, SQL
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience working as part of a highly collaborative team

Ability to succinctly identify business requirements and document design

Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical

Solution oriented, creative thinker

Strong decision making and experience with package software implementation methodology and tools
