Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM)'s General Preventive Program is designed to address the safety and well-being of children in high-risk families when a caretaker or child's substance use or mental health disorder places the child at risk of foster care placement or replacement. CCM is in the process of converting its current General Preventive program to the Functional Family Therapy for Use in Child Welfare (FFT-CW) evidence-based model. CCM seeks a Masters-Level Therapist who will hold a MSW/LMSW or an equivalent human services graduate degree.
Therapists will carry caseloads of 10 to 15 families at one time, and the expected case duration can be between 8 to 26 weeks. This position requires flexibility of hours to meet families when and where they are available. Candidate must demonstrate the following:
-An ability and willingness to work with families within the home.
-Flexibility to work with the families when they are available to meet
-A strong work ethic and an ability to work independently.
-Strong clinical skills
-Ability to internalize and work within the evidence-based Functional Family Therapy philosophy and model
-Commitment to empowering families
-Ability to intervene decisively, when necessary, to protect family members
-Ability to set appropriate boundaries
Duties will include but are not limited to:
-Carrying the assigned caseload of 10 to 15 families
-Providing home-based Functional Family Therapy to families
-Actively participating as part of the therapy team
-Assisting families by actively referring them to appropriate services and supports
-Assisting families with both clinical and concrete services
-Compiling and maintaining case records
