The Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for:
-Insuring compliance with OEM safety requirements (ASIL).
-System level analysis to allocate safety levels to components of the system.
-Negotiation with the customer regarding assignment of safety levels.
-Communicating to engineering teams the safety level of their development and what is required to meet that safety level.
-Monitoring development, reviewing assets to insure that the appropriate safety level is being met.
-Adherence to Autoliv's software engineering process, procedures, standard work, or equivalent.
-Representing Radar SW functional safety internally and externally.
-Coach and mentor the engineering team on functional safety processes and methods.
-Apply continuous improvement methodology's to functional safety work practices, processes, procedures, deliverables, etc.
-Willing to travel

Functional Safety Engineer
Bachelor's Degree (3-4 years) Master's Degree (4-6 years)
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
5-10 years of applicable engineering experience or equivalent.
Experience leading safety programs/initiatives within an engineering organization.
