Maintains a clean and healthy environment for plants in gardens and greenhouse.
Inspects plants for insects and diseases, monitors and controls infestations as directed by supervisor.
Waters plant material by hand when necessary.
Monitors irrigation system in gardens.
Performs plant maintenance such as pruning, pinching, trimming, dead heading, and replacement.
Installs plant material and completes seasonal change outs according to instructions.
Receives plant material and other products and checks quality.
Reports equipment problems in the conservatory, basement, or greenhouse to the supervisor.
Unpacks, benches, racks, and transports plant material to the conservatory and greenhouse.
Maintains cleanliness and order in all public and common work areas.
Operates various types of heavy equipment such as forklift, refrigerated truck, and rack truck.
Attends and completes all required safety training and classes.
Records all work performed daily on department forms and submit it to the supervisor.
Prioritizes workload and performs daily rounds on plant material.
Communicates openly with Horticulture supervisors and/or management.
Uses hand tools to complete plant maintenance.
Drives/Operates company vehicles to travel on and off property.
Preform other job related duties as assigned.
At least 3 years hotel landscape maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of exterior and interior plants.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Educational background in Horticulture and/or Floral.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
