KEYW is seeking a mid-level engineer to join our acquisition systems engineering technical assistance team supporting mission acquisition, imagery product evaluation and analysis for our intelligence community customer. This position will focus on the system engineering and acquisition aspects of GEOINT collection and processing systems. Emphasis areas include geospatial intelligence, product assessment and collection, processing, operations and management of national system acquisition. The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineering staff members, as well as our customers that may include military end-users and mission partners. In this position, you will assist in the design, acquisition and operations of state-of-the-art systems incorporating new technologies to prosecute existing targets, while anticipating unique and emerging Mission Partner requirements.
Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced GEOINT system requirements and capabilities. Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. May provide technical consultation to other organizations and work leadership for lower level employees. Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge of Industry Partners, IC and/or DoD communities to coordinate development activities among directorates, outside stakeholder and development contractors for the management of projects related to system upgrades and HW/SW environments.
Current or former IC Systems operation, acquisition, or systems engineering experience
Strong current or former Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Systems processing, operations, acquisitions, or systems engineering experience
Measurable experience with GEOINT collection systems and associated ground processing components
Experience with requirements definition and development on large-scale distributed systems transitioning into an existing operational environment
Experience with evaluating test procedures and evidence from test execution to evaluate suitability of evidence to requirements verification.
Knowledge of large scale distributed data collection, scheduling, planning, processing, and delivery systems
Experience evaluating requirements against CONOPS for impacts to current system or systems under development
Experience evaluating procedures intended to exercise a functionality to validate that functionality as planned by the requirements and defined in the conops
Experience defining, operating, base-lining, testing GEOINT command and control (C&C) systems.
Experience defining, operating, base lining, testing GEOINT Space Ground Routing systems to include RF Link Analysis and C&C hands on experience.
Experience with SIGINT processing.
Experience performing GEOINT product quality analysis including anomaly investigation, analysis and resolution.
Experience with Architecture, Systems and Operational-level CONOP documents
Hands on experience operating GEOINT mission management systems, collection strategies and overall mission operations.
Engineering experience with GEOINT processing concepts and systems. Must have hands on experience working the engineering of current operational GEOINT processing systems.
Systems engineering experience including development of Capability Development Documents, evaluation of RFCs, Technical Artifacts review, Requirements Analysis, and CONOP documents.
IC Acquisition experience and familiarity of system development lifecycle processes, products, milestones to ensure successful delivery of SOWs, Contract Technical Evaluation and proposal support.
Program/Project Management experience in Cost/Schedule/Performance is required
Legacy and future data architectures.
Development of strategic plans and recommendation of acquisition strategies.

Performs risk management and analysis to assess potential problems and solutions.
Work independently to achieve desired goals

Location: Chantilly, VA
Degree: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field. Six or more years applicable progressively complex systems design engineering experience, including integration of complex hardware/software systems.
Clearance: Positions require a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
