Position: GIS - Geospatial Analyst, Associate and Senior Associate level
Location: Washington, DC metro region

Position Description:
We are seeking qualified Associates to join the Geospatial Analytics practice. Our practitioners have backgrounds in engineering and social sciences, with deep expertise in information architecture, software engineering and all things geospatial. We deliver geospatial solutions to organizations with complex business challenges that demand the analysis and application of geospatial data to solve complex problems. Key sectors include: Defense, Intelligence, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Environment, Disaster Management and Public Health. Common applications include: Logistics and Mission Planning; Change Detection and Damage Assessment; Imagery Management; Valuation; Land Use, Zoning and Site Analysis; Property Management; Sensor Integration; and Information Sharing

The Analytic and Forensic Technology - Geospatial Analyst responsibilities include:
Must be able to obtain US Security Clearance , which requires US citizenship Understand the collection and management of geospatial data through remote sensing techniques (e.g. satellite imagery, LIDAR) and digital orthophotography Creation, update and maintenance of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data using well-known desktop GIS software as well as spatially-enabled relational database technology Research and population of metadata Database design and development Data modeling Development and/or implementation of web-enabled geographic information systems Required Skills: BA/BS in Geography, Cartography, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Surveying, Geology, or Engineering preferred. 2+ years of experience with Geospatial Information Systems 2+ years of experience with Geospatial Analysis related to: data modeling, database design & development, collection, remote sensing techniques etc. Additional Experience/Qualifications Preferred: The ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms Software development experience with Java, .Net, Flash/Flex Some business development or marketing skills or experience desired A strong finance, accounting or economics background is not required, but it is very helpful Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Deloitte is one of the leading professional services organizations in the United States, specializing in audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services with clients in more than 20 industries.
