Job Title: Entertainment Director
Reports To: Vice President

GMR Marketing- San Francisco Office
GMR is the Agency for our Client's Global Sponsorship Management (GSM) Department. Agency assists our client with facilitating the management of sports and entertainment sponsorships, helping the client leverage the partnerships to build brand preference and business for Client's financial institutions and merchants. GMR also manages 20 or so partnerships on behalf of the client which deliver offers and experiences in five key affluent consumer interest segments: Sports, Fine Wine & Food, Travel, Shopping and Entertainment, exclusively for our clients’ affluent customer base.

Entertainment Director - Job Summary
Position reports to the Senior Account Director of the Client's Account Team at GMR Marketing and directly to clients on our Client's site. The Director will oversee a team of two professionals who manage Entertainment partnerships and events which are designed to drive awareness and usage of the clients affluent card products. While roles and responsibilities can be adjusted at any time to best service the client and the GMR account team, time will primarily be devoted to the client services and will include the following:

Job Description / Responsibilities
  • Develop strong understanding of Visa business, growth objectives, products and target segments
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Entertainment industry, competitive landscape and trends
  • Develop and oversee strategic plans for the Entertainment program approach, including partnership opportunities, offer development, branding and acceptance plans, cardholder experiences, etc
  • Develop custom promotional opportunities to encourage Client Banks participation
  • Align with Client's film agency in LA and develop procedures for activation by GMR team once film deals are signed
  • Negotiate additional rights/assets as needed for Client bank use or national advertising campaign
  • Liaise with a cross functional client teams including: Sponsorship, Product, Marketing, Client Integration, and Legal
  • Define success metrics for the Entertainment program. Measure and report sales and marketing results against goals
  • Ensure uniform delivery of the clients messaging, branding and customer experience across third party promotion providers
  • Work with technical teams to develop (or leverage white label) promotion redemption paths online and on mobile
  • Evaluate performance of partnerships and assets; support negotiation/renewals
  • Supervise agency personnel (two direct reports); their performance and growth plans
  • Develop an understanding of GMR agency resources outside the SF office and evaluate opportunities to sell incremental services to improve Client servicing, including: Research and Consumer Insights, Creative Development, Temp Staff Solutions, Sweepstakes Administration, etc.
  • Manage six figure budget
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • 8-10 years of agency, property or major brand experience, preferably in Entertainment marketing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related marketing background/experience; MBA is a plus
  • Understanding of the Payment Services, Retail Bank industries preferred
  • Understanding of affluent consumer promotional marketing preferred
  • Superior client management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate and head off challenges
  • Ability to work in a complex, global organization and meet strict deadlines
  • Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to develop and deliver high level internal and external presentations
  • Proven ability to transition from strategy to tactics and from program development to execution
  • Strong management/leadership skills
  • Ability to work and succeed in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
