Job Description:
GRANTS SPECIALIST – LAND TENURE AND PROPERTY RIGHTS,
ARLINGTON, VA
Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont and
Washington, D.C., is accepting expressions of interest
from qualified candidates for Grants Specialists
positions for potential Strengthening Tenure and
Resource Rights programs. These programs will create,
expand, and communicate the results of evidence-based
knowledge around best land tenure and property rights
practices at the intersection of climate change and food
security in order to enhance internal USAID and external
USG learning, guide program design and implementation,
and make the most effective use of limited development
resources to accomplish key USG development objectives.
This will be a full time position, based in Arlington,
VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee, manage and coordinate all Grants activities;
  • Oversee, train and coordinate work of Grants Manager,
Contracts Manager, Procurement Manager and other
subordinate staff in department;
  • Prioritize and plan activities, identify resources, and
provide support and guidance in each area;
  • Recommend revisions to the existing Grants policies and
procedures to improve controls and efficiency;
  • Provide mentoring, and training in all areas of grants
implementation and management for operations staff, and
provide guidance and advice to technical staff in
grants-related issues;
  • Coordinate with technical staff to ensure
specifications, milestones, timelines, and delivery
information provides all relevant details suitable for
vendors, subcontractors and/or grantees to formulate
proposals and offers;

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration, Economics, or Management or related
field with significant Grants experience, with Master’s
degree preferred;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an
equivalent position, or proven track record
demonstrating required skills, experience and leadership
abilities to lead Grants activities;
  • Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or
donor on Land Tenure, Climate Change, or Natural
Resources activities is strongly preferred;
  • USAID-funded project experience is most desirable;
  • Very strong organizational skills and high attention
to detail;
  • Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative
team player;
  • Fluency in a language other than English; and
  • U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is
mandatory.
