DESCRIPTION

The Group Home Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the property (including indoor, outdoor and vehicle maintenance), household and program operations, assisting in the development and implementation of instructional plans and activities to meet established goals and objectives, participating in a team approach, and performing job responsibilities in a manner which complies with federal, state, agency and program regulations, policies and procedures, and ensures the health, training and safety of clients in a supervised living setting.

Evenings and weekends are required.
Days and shifts will vary.

DUTIES

IISPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The Specific Responsibilities for the employee will be to:
1.Supervise and monitor Group Home Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the implementation and maintenance of Individual Prescriptive Plans (IPP) and all related programming.

2.Assist QMRP and Group Home Manager in the planning of instructional activities designed to meet coordinated IPP goals and objectives. (This shall include implementation of activities recommended by ancillary staff).

3.Assist QMRP and Group Home Manager in the planning and implementation of other ICF/MR Federal Regulations, Medicaid and/or Fire Marshall required activities (including, but not limited to, the following areas: active treatment, emergency evacuation, tornado and fire drills, assistance with client finances, nutrition and medical care).

4.Participate in annual case conferences and/or staffing for clients with other appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team.

5.Maintain all necessary documentation in records, reports, and client file information.

6.Maintain assigned property to include, but not limited to, indoor, outdoor and vehicle maintenance.

7.Supervise and monitor medical needs of residents including, but not limited to: scheduled appointments, emergency procedures, surgeries, medication administration and the planning and arrangement of these things.

8.Complete the number of required hours of in-service training annually.

9.Attend appropriate program, agency and other organizational meetings.

10.Attend all in-service and agency meetings, is required.

11.Insure accountability for cost center expenditures.

12.Demonstrate appropriate role model for staff and residents.

13.Demonstrate teamwork with staff and residents in the agency.

14.Maintain acceptable work standards in all areas including attendance and punctuality.

15.This position is responsible for the supervision of: Group Home Direct Support Professional.

16.Be available for calls as needed for emergency situations during non-traditional work hours.

The General Responsibilities of this position may include the ability to communicate and interact with the public, co-workers, other departments, supervisors, suppliers, consultants, Department of Health surveyors, doctors, clients and client family members.

2.Physical Tasks
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1)Without assistance, employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 120 pounds.

2)While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to climb ladders/stairs, walk, crawl, sit, stand, stoop, bend, squat, push, pull, have full physical dexterity and agility, and eye/hand coordination.

3.General Tasks and Abilities

1)This position requires the ability to operate a vehicle and small equipment.

2)Employee must have the ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and IPP and Behavior Programs.

3)Employee must have the ability to write incident/accident reports, medical and behavior logs and data collection.

4)Employee must have the ability to calculate and count, add, subtract and read a budget sheet.

5)Employee must have the ability to comprehend, retain and follow oral and written instructions, exercise good judgment, set priorities, concentrate and focus on sensitive materials or items, listen, analyze, problem solve and make decisions.

6)Employee must be skilled at data collection and running a meeting.

7)Employee must be able to self-direct, work without supervision, function in high stress situations, provide instruction/training, direct and organize.

4.The Group Home Assistant Manager shall assume other responsibilities as requested by the Group Home Manager.

IVQUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each of the Specific and General Responsibilities satisfactorily. Additionally, the requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required to perform this job:

1.Required Licenses, Certificates, Degrees and/or experience

1)Must possess a valid Driver's License, with a driving record acceptable to Opportunity Enterprises, Inc. insurance carrier.

2)Must have high school diploma/GED

3)Demonstrates ability to perform responsibilities through education, prior training and/or experience.

2.Continuing Requirements

1)Must keep all certificates, licenses, and registrations current.

2)24 hours of In-Service required per year.

3)Must attend 75% of staff meetings and other required meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS
