The GSC Lean Black Belt - Locomotive will develop process improvements that have short-term & long-term impact on business and GSC (Global Supply Chain) objectives. Working effectively across a matrix organization, you will lead cross-functional teams to drive improvement projects that will improve customer service, cycle time, & inventory reductions, as well as improve customer on-time delivery for GE Transportation’s locomotive business.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:
Partner with leaders to define and execute initiatives to reduce inventory (currently >$400MM) across GLO portfolio of manufacturing sites and businesses

Define and lead customer fulfillment improvement initiatives across GLO portfolio of sites and businesses

Lead major GSC projects and initiatives in conjunction with the sourcing organization

Partner with leaders to define and execute initiatives to improve GE Transportation’s international kitting operation

Maintain up to date summary of improvement projects through program measurement and estimates

Communicate progress, status and issues to Champions and business leaders

Lead lean action workouts

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Supply Chain and Manufacturing

Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness to travel internationally, as required

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (GE Employees only)

OMLP graduate (GE Employees only)

Experience with large-scale lean implementation in a manufacturing environment

Strong Project Management and organizational skills

Heavy industrial machining and assembly experience

Excellent written / oral communication skills, influencing and interpersonal skills

Self-starter; takes the initiative to identify and implement new ideas

Strong analytical / problem solving skills

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, presentation and leadership skills

Ability to work with a variety of teams including both the shop floor and salary exempt personnel

Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization

Demonstrated commitment for process improvement

Customer-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities
