IBM SmartCloud Services, including of the announced SoftLayer acquisition, is one of the most dynamic and fast paced areas of the IBM business today. IBM Global Technology Services, NA Marketing is seeking a dynamic marketing professional to lead Demand Generation and Channel Marketing & Enablement activities for IBM SoftLayer and GTS Cloud portfolio of services.

Channel Marketing & Enablement: This person will have a thorough understanding of the channels to market (IBM and Business Partner) and will work with the IBM SoftLayer and Cloud GTS MSMs to develop a marketing plan that includes the overall market channel model and priorities within it. They will also work with the WW Cloud team to understand, leverage and, where appropriate, localize programs and content for NA Cloud channel enablement. This person will lead channel program execution development, rollout and tracking; management and development of references and client case studies; communication development and execution; business partner channel program development and enablement.

Demand Generation: This person will have a thorough understanding of IBM proprietary, external third party and online / digital events for NA go-to-market campaigns. This person will lead campaign planning through to execution including lead and response planning for GTS Cloud / SoftLayer campaigns. This person will also coordinate with other NA marketing teams to ensure the IBM SmartCoud / SoftLayer content is appropriately incorporated and positioned into those campaigns. This person reviews all campaign planning data; manages the campaign budget to an expected ROI and achieve/exceed the program objectives; and ensures the highest quality customer and market information is used in creating marketing demand programs.

Criteria for selection include, but are not limited to:
  • Strong marketing management experience
  • Experience developing and executing GTM strategy with channels
  • Experience with Cloud Computing, IT Services marketplace & clients
  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on IBM SmartCloud Portfolio, and in particular, SoftLayer and be comfortable and confident in working with sales teams
  • Experience working with across teams / stakeholders to define and lead successful projects
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation development skills, including public speaking skills as well as social business/social media skills
  • Strong organizational skills & ability to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA desired

    • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
    • English: Fluent
