Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Gas Market Analyst - Contingent located in San Ramon, CA through February 7, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Maintaining and operating Chevron's World Gas Model and for developing benchmark planning prices for natural gas markets around the world.
Develop, maintain and operate equilibrium natural gas market models in support of Chevron's Upstream & Gas business.
Maintain data sets on supply, demand, price, infrastructure capacities and economic drivers.
Process & analyze model input and output data.
Develop reports & charts to communicate results & insights of analysis to project teams & senior management.
Participate in the development of natural gas price guidance for use in developing the Business Plan and for project economics.
Expertise in economic modeling of markets and hydrocarbon resource development.
Demonstrated ability to learn and operate complex 3rd party modeling software.
Experience in managing, processing and interpreting large data sets.
Familiar with statistical analyses of commodity prices.
Able to distill and communicate model and analysis results into key findings for management and commercial teams.
Demonstrated understanding of economic, strategic & geopolitical drivers of gas markets and gas projects.
Able to work effectively in a team environment, including cross-OpCo teams.
Able to communicate clearly with team members the characteristics of large & complex data sets and the required tasks and analyses to be performed.
Able to effectively communicate in writing, in PowerPoint and verbally the results and insights of modeling and market analysis.
Able to present and defend analysis clearly and concisely to management.
Masters Degree in Economics, geology, statistics, engineering.
Desire 3 years commercial or analytical gas market experience.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
Expatriate assignments will be considered.
