Hollis Cobb is a well-established and growing receivables management and collection company in the business of solving problems for our clients. We are seeking candidates for the position of General Counsel/Collections Attorney at our corporate offices in Norcross, GA.

Position Summary:
The position of General Counsel advises the corporation concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges. Successful candidates will have experience in both collections and as corporate general counsel, and will oversee adherence of the policies and procedures set forth by Hollis Cobb Associates, Inc. as they relate to both federal and state laws and regulations. This employee will review constitutions, statutes, decisions, rules and ordinances of judicial, legislative and administrative bodies both government and industry related, relevant to the business of the corporation. Additionally, they will advise the corporation concerning transactions of business involving internal affairs, directors, officers, and corporate relations with the general public.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as the Company’s chief legal officer
· Establish policies and procedures for providing legal services required by the Company in the areas of contracting and contractual compliance
· Manage the daily activities of a legal call center, including filing suit and garnishments
· Work with senior management to assure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements applicable to the conduct of the Company’s business and guard against legal risks
· Establish risk management policies for the Company, subsidiaries and affiliated entities
· Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for the corporation
· Prepare business contracts and administer other legal matters
· Examine company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with industry laws and regulations
· Coordinate, advise and support compliance-related programs (training, testing and reporting), disaster recovery, contingency planning and records warehousing and destruction
· Arrange compliance audits and inform management of audit results
· Maintains Corporate Minute Book
· Clear understanding of the FDCPA and other industry related laws
· Assures security and access to all protected health information follows HIPAA and company procedures and regulations. Also responsible for notifying management of any noncompliance or potential nonconformance to HIPAA Workforce Security Standards
· Provide primary defense for any causes of action or demands against the Company, subsidiaries or affiliated entities
· Coordinate with outside counsel as needed; coordinate strategy, planning and negotiations as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Juris Doctorate and active license to practice law; Georgia Bar preferred, additional state licenses would be a plus
· 3+ years in-house experience with a corporation as general counsel
· Strong background and interest in contracts; experience should be broad in nature and encompass transactions, litigation, and commercial practice areas

· High level of emotional intelligence to establish and motivate teams of people to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives
· Ability to project a professional image (speaking: to employees, clients; writing: internal and external communiqués)

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
· Proficient in all Microsoft products and other operationally related applications
