The Global Business Development Manager - Retail/DIY position is responsible for identifying Retail/DIY specific growth opportunities (products and services), having a strong proposition including product, service, training etc to offer to Retail/DIY stakeholders, growing our business in the Retail/DIY market in all regions as well as incorporate and transfer best practices to develop the Retail/DIY segment globally

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and maintain the right toolbox to exploit opportunities in conjunction with Global Marketing and Regional teams
  • Specify appropriate services, products and support materials
  • Challenge the comfort-zone of existing country/region organizations in order to further grow the business
  • Ensure business processes meet specific needs of the Retail/DIY segment, including consumers
  • Establish active Retail/DIY market development plans in place in conjunction with regions/function
  • Develop Retail/DIY competencies of regional & functional personnel
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and influencers in the segment
  • Understand the key Retail/DIY trends and translate them into suitable plans and activities
  • Be the expert in the selling process related to the segment
  • Exploit synergies with all other parts of the organization
  • Sponsor / lead allocated growth projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Masters degree preferred
  • 8-12 years of experience in applying or selling paint
  • Experience with selling to retail chains
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with Retail/DIY customer groups and/or major segment players
  • Experience with Commercial/P&L/sales responsibilities
  • Marketing experience desirable
  • Energetic
  • The ability to interpret and translate customers needs
  • Strong Communication skills
  • The ability to influence and motivate teams outside chain of command
  • The ability to develop novel solutions
  • The ability to overcome resistance
  • Knowledge of boating and boat maintenance desirable
  • Knowledge of paint application and technology
  • Knowledge of the distribution, wholesale, retail, consumer network
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills

  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to travel globally up to 20 weeks per year
