Cycling Sports Group, Inc. is looking for a highly talented Creative Director for our Cannondale Brand to join our Bethel, CT office.

The role of Global Creative Director for the Cannondale brand requires a significant leadership skillset, outstanding design vision, and executional excellence. One who actively drives the brand’s creative agenda with a deep sense of the brand identity and vision and is able to truly drive stakeholder alignment with influence and respect. One who can lead a broad global and internal team with influence, a strong point of view toward driving a creative perspective and assets with global alignment. One who can organize and direct a large volume workload with global complexity and who has the capability to work and lead in a complex matrix organization. The creative director will be a main driver of building out the brand positioning and driving agency collaboration and will direct the development of all key marketing materials – from catalogs and dealers books to advertisements and in-store POS. The creative director will drive a consistent application of the brand globally through collaboration with regional marketing team

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strong Creative Vision
    • Drive the most compelling and relevant brand visual representation and brand voice for Cannondale that is the consumer-facing expression of the brand positioning
    • Communicate a global vision - leading the consistent creative expression of the brand across every single branded touch point in a global marketplace
    • Innovator who will challenge to bring new thinking and ideas that are relevant to the marketing mix
  • Strong Influence Ability:
    • Influence others in driving greater levels of innovative creativity that are on-brand
    • Can bring others along on a journey of breakthrough creative executions balanced by effective delivery of commercial tools
    • Able to work well with and influence agencies and bring them along with regard to brand identities as well as foster a partnership with them to bring about the most compelling and relevant creative
  • A Courageous Leader:
    • Lead all efforts to drive global brands/consistency across matrixed and multi-faceted organization
    • Lead a team of designers and producers to continually improve, bring great work and drive cultural advancement with great attitudes
  • Flawless Producer and Executer
    • A flawless executor, producer and director who has experience and ability to lead all aspects of creative production
    • Unfaltering project management abilities – able to get many things done well, via personal contribution as well as strong delegation and ability to organize team to meet priorities
    • Set direction, provide needed content, and play hands-on role in the design, layout and day-to-day deliverables across the spectrum of brand marketing materials
  • Understands the space
    • Thoroughly aware of dynamics of cycling space and/or action sports, sport, passion brands and can, with authority and respect, add immediate value in driving authentic delivery of creative
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, MBA a plus
  • 10-15+ years of results-driven creative leadership experience: Agency or client side
    • Within this, at least 5 years of concentrated branded creative leadership experience:
  • Can drive work from strategy to brief to concept to idea to production to execution to delivery to commercialization and dissemination flawlessly
  • Experience developing brand campaigns and driving creative vision for a brand
  • Experience evaluating brand briefs and writing design briefs to meet brand objectives
  • Experience leading the storyboarding, pre-production and execution of photo and video shoots
  • Proven and inspiring creative designer
  • Current creative software skills
  • Adept at developing and managing creative across variety of media (print, digital, social)
  • Strong knowledge in creative production and execution
  • Has the wherewithal and gumption to roll sleeves up and complete work
  • Built and managed a highly effective tactical team that engages and drives equity with partners
  • High level of professionalism and experience
  • Global in experience, mindset and approach
  • Experience with technical, innovation oriented, passion brands
  • Uber creative with vision
  • Influencing skills within matrix, multi-national company
  • Extremely strong written, verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and respect with diverse individuals
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to travel globally – roughly 25-50% of the time depending on the time of year
  • Experience in cycling and/or outdoor/active sport space
  • High interest or participation in cycling
