Job Description

The Profitability Team is a global team that coordinates with the Global Investment Management (GIM) finance teams and business partners to create a fully loaded activity based costing p&l at the individual product and client groups. This involves interviewing the business areas to ensure that the models accurately reflect the allocation of resources, collecting model data and educating others in Finance and in the wider business about the methodologies used. Furthermore, developing tools to help the business CFOs understand and validate their profitability results. The profitability process spans across a monthly, quarterly, forecast and plan cycles and is a management reporting tool that supports various ad hoc business decisions including compensation.

Roles and Responsibilities:
This role primarily supports the monthly, quarterly, outlook and plan profitability processes in addition to ad hoc projects.

The main tasks include:
Developing and maintaining consistent methodology and approach for the construction of activity based costing model(s)

Active management of data collection effort by working closely with CFOs and the infrastructure teams

Learning to run the SAS allocation model on a monthly(actual + outlook), quarterly and plan basis, eventually be able to run the model on your own

Understand the logic and rules in SAS and escalate when issues arise

Understand model mechanics, data flow and the application of drivers and metrics

Developing communications around future enhancements and potential use of ABC data

Acting as the 'translator' between model output and business input

Proactively identifying opportunities to leverage ABC-produced data in business decision making or extensions of cost analyses


SAS ABM module experience a plus

Understanding of costing principles, methodologies and applications

Strong Analytical skills

Strong organizational skills

Strong Excel, Access and PowerPoint Skills (minor SQL)

Essbase Proficient preferred (not required)

Self starter, detailed oriented, and well organized

Team player with strong communication skills

Ability to work under rigid deadlines

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Prior Asset Management experience preferred (not required)

Minimum of a bachelor degree is required, MIS major preferred

1 - 4 years experience within Finance
