As a Global Regulatory Compliance Test Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of SSN’s RF solutions. You will be working with Business Development and Product Marketing to provide guidance on opening up global markets for our radios. You will be working with foreign government regulators to influence interpretation of wireless standards and obtain compliance. During the design phase, your objective will be to collaborate closely with our hardware design teams to develop, test and qualify products to be compliant with SSN and market requirements, the relevant EMC / Safety and industry specific standards and regulatory requirements. This will involve engaging with various groups (electrical, mechanical, product management, etc.) as early as possible in the R&D cycle to ensure compliance by design rather than retrofit at a later time. In addition, you will work closely with our customers to align requirements and test standards. This role also includes working with the design engineers to plan, execute, and report Engineering Verification Tests.

Job Description

Deep and broad experience in testing wireless products to global standards.
Strong understanding of the process of obtaining PTCRB approvals for the US and abroad.
Expert in EMC test and debug principles.
Good general understanding of hardware design constraints and tradeoffs and an ability to find cost effective work-arounds where feasible; ability to simultaneously investigate multiple avenues to solve problems.
Expert knowledge of international standards and procedures related to obtaining product certifications (e.g. FCC, C-Tick, CE, CISPR, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, etc.)
Expert knowledge of environmental compliance testing, standards, procedures and equipment.
Conversant with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, LISNs, network analyzers, current probes, etc.
Excellent understanding of product delivery life-cycles in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience Required

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum 12 years of related experience.
Must be experienced getting global regulatory compliance. SRD, ISM, RFID, SAR, MPE, Safety
