Duration of Internship: March 1 to September 30 2013. We will work around student’s academic schedule.
Course Operation: TPC Jasna Polana is a private club in historic Princeton, NJ and is managed by the TPC Network. The club was founded on the Johnson family estate (Johnson&Johnson) and has hosted 3 Champions Tour events. The Gary Player design is a par 72 playing just over 7000 yards with bentgrass greens, tees and fairways, Kentucky bluegrass roughs and fine fescue secondary roughs. We are a certified Audubon sanctuary and we place an emphasis on excellent conditioning and environmental stewardship. The club is 45 minutes from Philadelphia, New York City and the Jersey shore, with easy access to mass transit.
Experience Requirements: Basic knowledge of golf course maintenance and the game of golf.
Special Requirements: A desire to become a Golf Course Superintendent
Duties : The Golf Course Maintenance Internship Program is designed to provide students with a practical, hands-on learning experience in golf course maintenance operations and agronomic plan management. The Program offers the candidate the opportunity to gain the supervised work experience necessary to become an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. TPC Jasna Polana offers interns a great working environment, a challenging site to develop turfgrass management skills, and excellent opportunities to advance within the TPC Network of clubs nation-wide.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a 2 or 4 year turfgrass management program.
