The individual in this position will work on Fannie Mae's implementation of certain programs under the U.S. Department of the Treasury's ("Treasury") Making Home Affordable initiative. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status is required by Treasury for such individual, as is execution of a nondisclosure agreement and compliance with other Fannie Mae requirements per Treasury's guidelines.
Within the Back Office Business Operations unit this individual will support all phases of Audit projects (business manual control environment) adhering to general practices and established enterprise and business unit standards. This includes Audit preparation, population gathering, detailed 2 nd level evidence review and submission as well as management response preparation and detailed Audit report review. Incumbent serves as day-to-day project manager and team lead for multiple concurrent audit projects; provides project guidance and informal coaching to team as appropriate and looks to identify and implement process efficiencies. In addition, incumbent will provide operational risk and control guidance to business process owners for manual process inventory, and fully demonstrate generalized knowledge of the mortgage industry and specialized area expertise for the Back Office Operations business operations functional area.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides guidance to colleagues/clients for effective control development, evidence QA, and population generation.

Successfully perform all key job functions of the Senior Audit support role at a higher level of complexity, scope and autonomy.
Assist with coordinating and administering assignments, monitoring and reporting team progress and managing schedules.
Serve as day-to-day project leader (including project guidance and informal coaching) to ensure established processes are followed, effective status reporting is completed, deadlines are met and quality of deliverables meets standards.
Identify operational risks and assess potential impacts to Business Unit and recommend control/evidence solutions to business process owners
Continually strengthen or improve the control environment and evidence and population gathering techniques acting as a key driver of change within the functional unit.
Conduct second level/QA evidence review prior to submission to Audit entities. Review and finalize audit reports and other team deliverables with Risk and Controls Support Manager.
Leverage Risk and Controls Manager/Director guidance as needed. Communicate project team and audit objectives; inspire and motivate team to achieve results.
Create, plan and execute internal management testing and report out results and findings
Build and maintain relationships with business partners at the manager and staff levels. Provide advice and share Audit knowledge with business partner managers and staff to strengthen governance, risk and control environment, as appropriate.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Business Administration plus equivalent Master's Degree and/or MBA
CISA, CRISC, or CISM Certification
5- 10 years of relevant experience
Previous practical project management experience
Previous hands on Audit preparation/execution (business/manual controls)
Mortgage Banking and/or previous Fannie Mae-specific experience
