This part-time position is to assist ICA's publication team in transforming 25 years of ICA archaeological research into a number of books that are being published by UT Press.
Edit and clean images to be used in publications, using Adobe Suite Software. Scanning and organizing all primary photographic material in order to supply all the researchers with primary documentation. Create illustrations of pottery from ICA's Italian excavations. Digital inking of artifacts utilizing digitized pencil sketches to create technical drawings that are scalable, editable and print ready. Publication layout involving integrating all of the research content of publication into its final printed form. Scan archival primary documentation and enter related data into the ARK system.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. One year of experience in graphics design and production. Excellent Adobe Suite skills. Experienced with Mac and PC operating systems --- and with FileMaker Pro. Good organizational skills; patience with routine work and flexibility.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Familiarity with Greek Archaeology in Southern Italy and Ancient Art History. Web experience. Some knowledge of Italian or Classical languages is essential.
May work around standard office conditions
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Work in a windowless office.
A criminal history background check will be required
for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement
System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the
position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length.
