Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI)
is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.
DTS is responsible for managing the firms global server, storage and middleware infrastructure across plan, build and operate functions. The organization is transforming into a Managed Services provider for JPMC and drives product management, engineering standards and productivity initiatives in support of the Managed Services.
The DTS Database team works in conjunction with other technology towers and LoBs to ensure that database technologies are deployed around a set of standards and best practices that is integrated with a managed service offering. In order to meet regulatory requirements and specifically address controls around privileged user access, a Database Activity Monitoring service (DAM) is being setup. The service infrastructure will be built using the Guardium from IBM, with critical production applications being on-boarded in agreed phases.
We are looking for candidates with extensive experience of Guardium to operate the global infrastructure. As a member of the operations team, you will initially be responsible for the global roll-out of the Guardium infrastructure and database on-boarding process. You will also be responsible for incident management, problem management, patch management, change management and request management. You will work in close alignment with the Service Owner, tracking key performance and capacity metrics to ensure the on-going uptime of the infrastructure.
Good written and verbal communication is an important part of the role as you will be expected to work across multiple teams, including JPMC technology towers and the vendor (IBM). On a periodic basis, you will also be expected to provide updates to senior management, LoB stakeholders and the broader database community
Minimum of 7+ years experience of distributed computing technologies
Minimum of 3-5+ years experience operating Guardium Infrastructure
Minimum of 5+ years experience of database technologies – one or more from Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server or DB2 UDB
Minimum of 3-5+ years experience of Linux operating system
Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in the financial services sector
Good working knowledge of Database Security Standards
Comfortable facilitating cross-technology & cross-tower meetings
Strong written and verbal communications
