IJM is seeking a Driver/Special Assistant for its office in Gulu. IJM is looking for a highly skilled and responsible individual, who can reflect the IJM Core Values – Christian, Professional, Bridge Builder – in providing transportation and assistance to IJM's staff, clients and guests.
Responsibilities
Drive IJM's vehicles for IJM staff, clients and guests for business purposes.
Maintain records of the use, condition and fuel consumption of IJM vehicles.
Oversee cleaning, maintenance, repair, fueling and upkeep of IJM vehicles.
Welcome international guests and staff at airport and hotels.
Provided navigation and translation support for IJM staff.
Provide security support at IJM-sponsored mediations and meetings.
Perform miscellaneous casework related tasks (liaising with land brokers, delivering aftercare supplies, assist with surveys, run errands, etc.) as needed.
Participate in IJM programs in professionalism and Christian spiritual formation.
Assist in hosting guests, visitors, and volunteers.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Driver's License and certificate from defensive driving course.
At least five years experience as a professional driver.
Experience and licensing to drive a motorcycle preferred.
Knowledge of geography and roads of Gulu, Amuru and surrounding areas.
Understanding of maintenance requirements for four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Familiarity with pricing for vehicle maintenance and repair.
Fluency in English and Acholi, with excellent writing and speaking in both.
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
