Field supervisors are responsible for leading the staff at gym/field when necessary and hold an advanced position of timekeeper, scorekeeper and referee. Records game statistics and/or keeps time for the sports program and referees games. Submit scores to the Recreation Department after games on a weekly basis. Assists in set up and clean up of equipment and facility/location for assigned sport(s). Accurately record game statistics and score and keeps track of game times. Check-in players for games and is responsible for game equipment when necessary. Gym/Field supervisors are responsible for overseeing program and activities, and they are responsible for ensuring the well-being of the participants during these activities. Must be aware of and enforcement of the Sports officiating rules and playing guidelines for their assigned sport(s). Assist with the development and implementation of all rules, regulations, and policies governing the Sports program and thorough knowledge of sports and/or background officiating and/or scorekeeping are required. Assists with the public and participants as they come into the location and answers any necessary questions about the program. The employee works indoors and outdoors at the assigned recreational activity. Observes, enforces, and complies with all rules and regulations of the facility and the department. Stands, walks, runs, bends, stoops, reaches, climbs stairs, lifts and carries recreational supplies and equipment as necessary. Applicant will be required to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

The hourly rate for this SEASONAL/TEMPORARY position is $11.14.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 1200 hours of relevant work experience as a leader or instructor in one or more specialized recreation activities.

Education: Completion of two years of college. (60 Credits)

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
