This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period; and funding is subject to budget approval. (This is a pay band 1 non-exempt hourly position. The entry hourly rate is $8.50. This position works approximately 30-35 hours per week. The anticipated date of hire is on or about July 25, 2012.)
The successful applicant will wash pots and pans; Load and unload dish machine; Store all dishes properly; Sweep and mop floors; Sort clean dishware, etc. Keep dish room and three-compartment sink area clean and organized; Follow proper procedures in cleaning and sanitizing dishes; Follow proper procedures for cleaning and maintaining dishwasher; Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs on a fairly continuous basis; Ensures trash dumpster area is cleaned daily; Position is subject to prolonged standing. Position will be exposed to potentially slippery footing and congested work areas. Position will be exposed to temperature extremes and dangerous equipment, tools and machinery. Develops and maintains very positive and professional customer service and/or relations within the office/department and with all constituencies to include students, faculty, staff, guests and employees. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Fully supports the "Student's First" value at CNU and routinely goes the extra mile in providing service. The knowledge, skills and abilities include: Knowledge and experience with safety and sanitation procedures. Knowledge and experience in the operation of commercial dish machine.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, and/or any combination of experience that equates to a high school diploma or GED;
Capable of working a flexible schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a food service industry doing dishwasher responsibilities;
Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
