Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Hawaii AIDS Clinical Research Program (HACRP), located at Le’ahi Hospital, HACRP Processing Laboratory in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $2,552/Mon.

DUTIES: Manages, coordinates, and supports the expansion and needs of the research programs and clinical laboratory service of the clinical research program. Provides the necessary lab, molecular biology, clinical specimen processing, and phlebotomy support for the HACRP Processing Laboratory.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or science-related field. EXPERIENCE: Two to four (2-4) years experience in clinical research lab setting. Experience supervising undergraduate students in a clinical research lab setting. Phlebotomy experience and experience in bio-safety/universal precautions using biological specimens. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of principles of virology. Knowledge of the use of laboratory equipment. Able to safely handle infectious material and clinical samples. Able to prepare written reports of test analyses and results. Able to plan/direct work of staff. Able to analyze/report research experimentation results objectively. Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal insured vehicle. PHYSICAL/MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift and carry twenty-five (25) pounds.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with infectious materials. Microsoft Office software experience.
