The HBOT Therapist/Safety Officer is a registered respiratory therapist who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total care to various age groups. Provides respiratory services within HBO2 Unit. Includes Airway management, and arterial blood gas punctures/analysis. Serves as the Safety Officer for the HBOT department, and as such is responsible for assisting facility management and the medical director to establish procedures for the safe operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric facility.
Must have a current license as a RRT issued by the State of Pennsylvania.
Completion of a NBDHMT/UHMS approved course in Hyperbaric Medicine.
Completion of UHMS or NBDHMT approved HBO safety course.
Certified within 1 year of assuming the responsibilities of Safety Officer.
Completion of an accredited hyperbaric medicine program.
ESSENTIAL JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE :
Ability to maintain/update the computer competencies as required for the position.
PREFERRED JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE :
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Proficient in software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Explorer, Hospital Specific software.
Experience in use and/or development of protocols.
