POSITION PURPOSE -
The Division Manager - is responsible for retaining full accountability and responsibility for the sales of the division and is accountable for meeting sales targets. The position is also responsible for ensuring the division meets defined performance metrics and targets, including customer satisfaction. This function provides management and leadership to sales to ensure revenue targets are met. The Division Manager - Sales is also responsible for recruiting and developing the sales management team within the division. The territory will include Sales oversight of 7-10 sales branches throughout California and up to 2 other states..

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Recruiting, development and management of sales staff
Management and leadership of sales to ensure the division meets and exceeds revenue targets
Strenghthen relationships with Store Management through PK's and Store Walks to ensure program awareness
Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by focusing on quality sales activities
Drive tangible activities to maintain or reduce sales related expenses
Divisional Profitability

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.
Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time, with an average travel schedule of three out of four weeks per month.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
18 Years of age
Must pass drug and background tests

The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
10+ years of knowledge or experience in the home improvement industry
Prior experience managing P&L, averaging 50mm to 150mm in revenue and managing 8-10 direct reports in multiple locations
Manage/drive operations projects and process improvements. Identify and analyze the fundamental components of problems and develop and implement processes that add value to the Home Depot
Experience managing a complex business across multiple sites Strategic and analytical skills

  • 3 years of multiple branch responsibility
  • Recruiting/training experience with in-home sales consultants
  • 3-5 years of experience selling directly in the home to consumers
  • Home Improvement sales and management experience a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Divisional management of an in-home sales team
Proven success in recruiting and managing sales management
Training of divisional sales management
Ability to successfully drive performance in a large territory through effective management and leadership
Manage divisional expenses to meet and exceed profit margins
