The primary purpose of the HERO is to effectively contribute to the sales and operations of the region, while delivering exceptional customer service. Such duties include sales presentations to current and prospective customers, running transactions, processing paperwork, and the opening of accounts.
The HERO will lead the region towards success by mentoring and assisting in the development of Sales Associates and Personal Bankers. The HERO will supervise and lead a branch when covering for staff shortages.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Travel to multiple branch locations working various opening/closing shifts as needed.
Perform bank transactions accurately and professionally.
Assist customers with withdrawals, deposits, open new accounts, etc.
Prepare paper work and other materials for new accounts.
Follow proper dual control expectations.
Conduct Teller drawer, ATM and Vault Balancing.
Provide outstanding customer service to all bank customers.
Represent the bank in a courteous and professional manner.
Answer phone calls that are received by the branch.
Deliver prompt, efficient, and accurate service.
Work with the customers to solve any complaints.
Make effective decisions when processing exceptions for customers.
Achieve and exceed company set sales goals by selling bank products and services.
Cross Sell alternative accounts to current customers.
Follow up on any prospective customer leads.
Reach individual goal as well as help coworkers reach total Region goal.
Lead in sales by setting a positive example.
Supervise and motivate co-workers to assist the region in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
Use effective techniques in cross selling, in aisle sales, and off site opportunities.
Open new accounts by reaching out to prospective customers.
Track new accounts opened and prospective sales leads.
Go into the aisle of the store and talk with prospective customers about the products and services that are offered.
Take part in promotions offered by Best Bank.
Visit local businesses off site and inform them of the products and services that are offered.
Responsible for security and the maintenance of proper cash requirements in their teller drawer.
Ensure compliance with appropriate bank, regulatory and legal requirements.
Educate employees and customers about theft and fraud prevention.
Participate in various trainings offered by the company to enhance skills and knowledge.
Learn the new products and services that are being offered by Best Bank.
Work on problem solving skills to better assist customers in a professional way.
Enhance sales techniques and generate new approaches.
Assume responsibility in absence of the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This individual must have a minimum of 1 year of retail sales experience and possess a sales-oriented, outgoing and professional personality.
This individual should have experience with goal based compensation.
This qualified candidate must have previous sales and customer service experience and also possess an aptitude for attention to detail.
This individual is required to have dependable transportation to commute from branch to branch as necessary, as well as the ability to work flexible in schedule and hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Other Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
The employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and operate a computer.
Ability to lift op to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements
Close, distant, and peripheral vision requirements.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is moderate (computers, printer, light traffic).
Recognition Bonus:
Employees that remain in the HERO position for 1 year will be eligible for $1,000 recognition bonus.
Employee must be employed by the bank at the time of payout to receive the bonus.
Those that transfer or are promoted within the 12 month period are not eligible for the bonus.
Final determination of eligiblity will be made by the Vice President of Retail Banking and Human Resources.
This bonus may be modified, amended or terminated by the company at any time.
Comments
Car allowance will be paid in lieu of mileage. This allowance will be paid on a monthly basis.
