This HES Specialist role is critical in driving and sustaining an OE culture throughout the Corporate Procurement organization and supporting Procurement's role in Contractor HES Management across Chevron. The Procurement and Supply Chain function collaborates within Chevron and across the companies we work with to manage the supply and demand chain. Our goal is to consistently deliver goods and services to Chevron safely, reliably, and at a competitive cost.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Support Corp Procurement's role in Contractor HES Management across Chevron:
Act as the Corporate Procurement CHESM lead Subject Matter Expert.
Actively participate in Corporate CHESM Community of Practice (COP) and Global Upstream CHESM COP as Corp Procurement Representative.
Drive and sustain OE Culture throughout Corp Procurement Organization:
Represent Corp Procurement in the OE for Office OE Management System. Participate in OE4O MSP activities (self assessment, LBAT, 3 Year OE Shaping Plan, OE Business Plan milestones)
Lead the Corp Procurement OE Committee and ensure OE requirements are met with in Corp Procurement: BBS, RSIP, Travel Safety, Compliance Assurance, Emergency Management, etc.
Provide coaching to leaders, leadership team and other line management in OE process and systems
Develop OE communications for workforce, LT, supervisors, etc.
Maintain Corp Procurement OE/HES website and SharePoint site
Represent Corporate Procurement representative on various HES committees (Downtown Houston HES Committee, T&S HES Mgrs Meetings, Global HES Mgrs Meetings, Corp Procurement Audit Committee)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Health related disciplines or Business Degree with procurement experience.
3+ years Procurement and/or HES experience.
Strong leadership skills with ability to lead safety cultural/behavioral change.
Demonstrated use of coaching and mentoring concepts to engage the workforce and impact OE culture and ownership at every level.
Demonstrated fluency and broad knowledge of all OE Elements, Management System Process (MSP) and OE Planning Tools.
Strong general H&S practitioner with experience applying H&S tools.
Experience with incident and near miss investigations.
Experience leading a high quality behavioral based safety program with successful use of behavioral based tools (e.g., observations with feedback) to modify behaviors.
Experience applying Chevron CHESM OE Process in operations.
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence beyond function.
Ability to work with senior level managers and line organization to identify barriers and improve OE process and performance.
Proactive communicator with demonstrated ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
Strong CSOC meeting behaviors and ability to manage numerous functional areas simultaneously.
3+ years Procurement and HES experience.
