Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of HES Specialist – Statistical Analyst located in Houston, TX through March 30, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
The HES Statistical Analyst analyses Upstream and Gas health, environmental and safety data to highlight useful information, suggest conclusions, deliver actionable insights, and support decision making.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics or related area.
Demonstrated experience in the successful application of applied statistical methodology and be skilled in modeling, data mining, regression, forecasting, predictive analytics, and inferential statistics (i.e., ANOVA, chi-squared tests, t-tests, confidence intervals, etc.).
Demonstrated ability applying mathematical and statistical analysis tools and techniques including design of experiments, predictive modelling (e.g., linear and logistic regression), inference (e.g., ANOVA, chi-squared tests, t-tests, confidence intervals), data mining and model validation.
Working knowledge of database concepts and database management systems.
Demonstrated experience manipulating large data sets in preparation for subsequent statistical anslysis and reporting.
Proven fundemental understanding of HES data.
Proven ability to understand business issues and formulate analytical solutions.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to write technical reports.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and with multiple levels of the organization.
Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics or related discipline.
