JOB SUMMARY: The interface analyst will support tribal health organizations (THO) in the Alaska Tribal Health System throughout Alaska by providing interfaces for disparate applications to ensure database integrity across systems. The incumbent will be interfacing to the Orion based, AeHN managed, Alaska HIE (Health Information Exchange). Interfaces may be to or from Orion, RPMS, Allscripts, Cerner, Nextgen, Health Fusion, Ingenix, or other systems as needed.
Provide expert knowledge in the technical aspects of data interfaces in a healthcare environment. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and customers in the resolution of difficult problems that are related to all interfaced applications.
Lead the development process among vendors and THO clients. Work with technical experts at Orion, the Indian Health Service and vendor staff in all phases of the project. Routinely meet with all levels of leadership regarding interface/integrated system’s progression, enhancements and issues.
Develop project plans to ensure that projects are implemented within established timeframes and specifications.
Design, code, test, document and implement interfaces in the THO’s local environment according to specifications using the required protocols such as: HL7, TCPIP, XML, etc. Design, implement and maintain the organization's interface engine and all related inter-system data transmissions,
Provide primary support in analysis and documentation of interface enhancements and fixes, Ensure that useful audit trails of data access are readily available. Assist application analysts with report writing functions as requested.
Troubleshoot and support interface engine and all interfaced and integrated applications. This position requires 24x7 support.
Educate and transfer knowledge of interface engine and troubleshooting assistance to local site managers. Provide detailed documentation of all operational and downtime policies and procedures in reference to application interfaces and the interface engine.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; AND five (5) years of programming experience in a hospital environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory - Five (5) years professional work experience in health education, health related research, and/or health related program development, implementation and evaluation. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

Experience in the Alaska Tribal Health System.
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be called out to work off-shift in emergency situations. According to the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain specific technical certifications and programming language skills.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
