This position performs and executes fugitive emissions monitoring and minor repairs to comply with federal and local leak detection and repair requirements. Completes other air quality field work as required to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual component inspections to ensure compliance with local and federal requirements.
Implements minor Instrumentation repair as required by inspections.
Identifies facility modifications for fugitive inventory updates.
Prepares leak reports for monitoring and reporting.
Maintains fugitive emissions monitoring instrumentation and equipment.
Conducts internal quality control audits and safety reports.
Performs other unspecified duties under the direction of supervision.
Education and Experience:
Minimum: High School diploma or GED. General knowledge of refinery process units and process knowledge preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be medically cleared and physically able to work in all areas of the refinery and perform all job requirements outlined utilizing required safety gear, Total Volatile Analyzer (TVA), and FLIR Camera.
Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for ongoing unescorted access into Refinery from perimeter gates.
Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and high elevations, and be physically capable of entering all refinery towers and vessels when/where necessary.
Must possess a valid Driver's License, with an excellent driving record.
Must be able to perform work in a team environment, demonstrating honesty and integrity, and show willingness to learn.
Must be organized and possess ability to keep accurate legible documentation of work.
Requires safe work practices to ensure safety is a fundamental part of every task. Follow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping practices.
Requires ability to respond to refinery needs outside of normally scheduled work hours and take ownership of all work performed.
Requires the ability to carry a 20lb backpack for up to 8-9 hours per day.
Requires ability to pass a Written and Computer Based skills test and an Oral Presentation skills test.
Requires strong computer skills including but not limited to SAP, LTS, M.S. Office including, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Requires strong interpersonal skills; with strong oral, writing skills. Must possess ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements including but not limited to PSM, CCC ISO, OSHA, Cal OSHA, API, EPA and other applicable regulations preferred. Knowledge of federal and local leak detection and repair (LDAR) regulations preferred.
Requires strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on individual devices and systems.
