There is a part-time (hourly) Library Page position available in the Circulation Division of the Georgina Cole Library.

The scheduled work days and hours for this part-time (hourly) Library Page position will require nights and weekends, but may vary. Hourly positions are not benefited and cannot exceed 980 total hours worked within one fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).

Key Responsibilities:

Part-time (hourly) Library Pages in the Circulation Division perform the following functions:
  • Shelve, sort, and shift library materials
  • Conduct shelf searches
  • Empty book drops
  • Transport books and other materials throughout the building
  • Occasionally set-up/break-down of tables and chairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:
  • Demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service
  • Communicate clearly
  • Detail-oriented
  • Push and maneuver heavy book carts

Experience & Education:

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would qualify. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System highly desirable.

If selected to interview, applicants may be asked to take a written exam that will be used to evaluate attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

As conditions of employment, we will verify the employee’s legal right to work in the United States, and conduct a criminal check through a Department of Justice Live Scan report.

If hired, employee will be required to maneuver heavy book carts and lift up to 40 pounds. While performing the duties, employees of this class are regularly required to be detail oriented; observe and interpret people and situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with staff and others encountered in the course of work.
